Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual, who enjoys challenges, to join our team at the Chichester Centre, a low secure mental health Mental Health unit comprising of three male wards, in Chichester, West Sussex.

You will be working as an administrator for Forensic Healthcare service where you will use your skills to support highly-skilled and dedicated clinical staff from a multitude of backgrounds including; doctors, nurses, pharmacists, therapists, and social workers, to help ensure that we continue to provide excellent patient-focused care.

As well as the clinical team you will be dealing with patients, carers and visitors to the unit, as well as telephone calls and enquiries from the general public, patients and relatives.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person who has:

Planning and organisational skills Ability to work on own initiative as well as works well in a team Has good PC skills: - experience of Microsoft Office, including but not exclusively Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, SystmOne and SharePoint Has excellent written (including minute taking) and verbal communication skills and a pleasant telephone manner Helpful and flexible attitude is essential Has good interpersonal skills and is able to work in a confidential and sensitive manner

You will be provided with training and development opportunities and regular supervision.

This is for 18.75 hours across 3 days which would which ideally would include a Monday (these days may be subject to change and as much notice as possible will be given).

Job responsibilities

You will be required to work to a very high standard of accuracy, have excellent organisational skills and be able to demonstrate initiative in planning your own workload in a way that supports the clinical team and ward team.

To liaise withother departments and services and to respond effectively to enquiries from the general public,service users, referrers and other agencies. To consistently deliver a patient focussed service, which promotes good customer service and effective working relationships.

The role will involve:

Planning and minute taking for key meetings as well as ad-hoc meetings as needed

Supporting the Admin Team with a variety of tasks as needed

Maintaining patient records, key data and group mailbox

Ordering clinical, dry goods, stationary and specialised equipment using our Oracle ordering system

Covering for other Admin Team staff

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Good standard of secondary education; GCSE at Grade C or above or equivalent
Knowledge/Experience
  • Proven experience of a range of administrative procedures
  • Experience of producing documents to a high standard of presentation with good accuracy
  • Experience of developing, managing and maintaining office information systems
  • Experience of working as part of a team
