Senior Pupil Support Officer - Oaklands Special School

Salary: £34,452 - £40,501 (pro rata for part time and sessional)
Hours: 25 per week, 39 weeks sessional
Oaklands is a special school for nursery, primary and secondary age pupils. The school meets the needs of learners with complex medical needs and long term additional support needs who require a significantly modified learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Work with children and families as they transition from school to adult services, liaising with external organisations to ensure a smooth transition.
- Contribute to the training and mentoring of new support staff.
- Provide support and guidance to children and families in alignment with the school's modified learning environment.
- Collaborate with team members to support learners' full participation in the school environment.
Pre employment checks
- This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
- Preferred applicant must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
- Any individual who has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years must provide an Overseas Criminal Record Check.
- Employment and commencement in the post will be subject to satisfactory outcome of both checks.
