A growing technology company is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer to join its Infrastructure & Security team at its Milton Keynes HQ. This is a new, hands-on role focused on maintaining and improving corporate and production IT systems, both on-premise and in the cloud.

The RoleYou will play a key role in ensuring system availability, improving operational resilience, and supporting critical infrastructure. You'll work across Linux and Windows environments, manage cloud platforms, implement cyber security measures, and contribute to the ongoing optimisation and documentation of IT systems. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of infrastructure that supports high-availability, security-critical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provision and support IT infrastructure and systems
• Administer Linux and Windows operating systems
• Manage cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft 365)
• Implement cyber security controls, including firewalls, WAFs, Active Directory, IPS/IDS
• Support network administration (IP networking, routing, VLANs, Spanning Tree, VoIP)
• Manage database administration, backups, patching, and upgrades
• Support high availability and secure production environments
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures

Skills & Experience

• Several years' experience in IT systems engineering or infrastructure roles
• Strong Linux and Windows experience
• Solid networking knowledge
• Hands-on cloud platform experience
• Exposure to cyber security tooling and practices
• Experience managing backups, patching, and system lifecycle processes
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Degree in IT, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
