Senior HR Manager

We are recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing, international creative communications business for an experienced Senior HR Manager to lead and professionalise HR operations across the UK and US.
Based in London, this is a high-impact role reporting directly to the Managing Director, balancing operational HR delivery with strategic people planning. You will support teams across London, Los Angeles and New York.
The role requires strong working knowledge of UK employment law alongside US employment legislation, specifically California (Los Angeles) and New York State/City requirements.
The Opportunity
Our client has experienced significant growth across countries, teams and divisions, while maintaining a strong creative and collaborative culture. As they continue to scale, they are seeking a senior HR leader who can embed robust processes and governance - without losing their people-first ethos.
You will act as the central point of contact for all people matters across UK and US teams, ensuring compliance, consistency and cultural alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational HR Leadership
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures compliant with UK, California and New York employment legislation
- Lead complex employee relations cases across jurisdictions
- Oversee HR administration and HRIS management (Breathe preferred)
- Standardise onboarding, offboarding and recruitment processes
- Manage inclusive and compliant hiring practices
- Support pay review cycles, salary benchmarking and progression frameworks
- Provide accurate HR metrics and insights to senior leadership
- Ensure clear job descriptions and career pathways across all roles
- Culture & Organisational Development
- Maintain and evolve a creative, collaborative and inclusive culture
- Deliver engagement surveys and action plans
- Lead succession planning and talent identification
- Align departmental objectives with company vision
- Develop structured training plans and leadership capability
- Implement consistent standards and performance expectations across regions
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law
- Demonstrable expertise in US employment law, particularly California (Los Angeles) and New York
- Industry experience in either creative environments/ media/advertising
- Experience managing complex ER matters across multiple jurisdictions
- Track record of implementing operational HR initiatives
- Experience in policy development, organisational design and culture management
- Strong HRIS capability (Breathe advantageous)
- Experience working across UK and US teams
