Ocean Imports Coordinator

Position: Ocean Imports CoordinatorLocation: RochesterSalary: £30,000 - £35,000

Our client, a well-established freight forwarding company are actively seeking a skilled Ocean Imports professional to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of ocean import operations, including FCL and LCL shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, timely updates, and excellent customer service, while liaising with overseas offices and internal teams to support smooth delivery of goods.

Job Overview

• Manage all shipping documentation accurately and on time
• Monitor shipments through effective communication with overseas offices and internal team members
• Provide customers with timely and accurate updates; ensure online tracking information is up to date and visible
• Organise delivery of customer goods within company credit policy
• Handle customer and overseas partner queries
• Act as cover when required within the team
• Support team operations and collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth workflow

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience in import ocean operations (FCL and LCL)
• Commercial awareness and understanding of freight forwarding operations
• Experience using freight management systems, e.g., CargoWise, Sequoia, Descartes, CDS
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong customer service focus and determination to exceed expectations

Salary & Benefits

• £30,000 - £35,000 dependent on experience
• Full-time, permanent (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm)
• 28 days holiday (BH Included) + additional 5 days with long service
• Pension scheme
• Office-based in Rochester
