Childcare Assistant

Annual Salary: £22-£25 per hour

Location: West Sussex

We are urgently seeking Level 3 Early Years qualified Childcare Assistants to join our dedicated team at a Nursery, located at our west sussex Campus. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about providing a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children.

Day-to-day of the role:

Promote a safe, caring, and stimulating environment in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Act as a key worker for named children, planning for individual needs and maintaining accurate records.

Collaborate with the team to meet children's individual needs and support their full potential.

Maintain effective communication with parents, carers, staff, and external agencies.

Uphold health, hygiene, and safety standards within the nursery.

Assist with various activities as requested by senior staff and respect the working environment and resources.

Adhere to all operational policies and procedures of First Steps Childcare.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Level 2/3 in Early Years, Care and Education (or equivalent) is essential.

Experience working in a childcare setting or relevant childcare placement is essential.

Understanding of current Early Years regulations including EYFS and Ofsted Inspection Framework.

Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.

Strong time management, organisational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team with excellent interpersonal skills.

Current First Aid certificate is desirable.
