Job Description

With nearly 1,000 staff members, the Department of Acute Medicine (DMA) includes services such as anesthesiology, clinical pharmacology, toxicology, intensive care, and emergency services. It addresses a fourfold mission through its services, which bring their expertise in frequent interaction with all the Geneva University Hospitals, aiming to ensure the best possible care.The adult intensive care service cares for adults who present or are at risk of developing vital organ failures, whether medical or surgical, with an imminent risk to their lives. It also advises and intervenes as needed in other services of the HUG and participates in urgent hospital interventions.As a team leader in intensive care (RES), you exercise your leadership in a context of care. Thanks to your qualities, skills, and open-mindedness, you promote interdisciplinary work and develop team spirit to ensure the quality and efficiency of the care provided. You coordinate and organize the proper distribution of resources among nursing staff and define team schedules and allocation of competencies according to the specific needs of your unit. You ensure individual follow-up of your team members and provide feedback on their performance. In a constructive approach, you rely on your sense of diplomacy to manage disagreements that may arise and know how to adapt your communication with your team, your colleague RESs from the service, and the management.As a professional team member, you participate in their development within your unit and the service by enhancing collective and transversal skills and knowledge in collaboration with specialists. As a member of the DMA management team, you play a role as an ambassador for the vision of care and contribute to promoting it. You engage and participate in the cross-management of the service in your role as a manager.You hold a Bachelor HES in nursing or a diploma recognized by the Red Cross, have completed or planned management training (CAS in management), and have a cantonal nursing license. You have five years of experience in the nursing role within a care service and have already held a management position, ideally with at least 2 years of management experience. You possess the EPD-ES diploma in nursing and have excellent qualities such as listening skills, the ability to unite others, and a strong command of common tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.). You have a sense of responsibility, organization, and prioritization. You demonstrate proactivity, are a source of proposals while being capable of rising to challenges.
