About the Company

A well-established manufacturer based near Tamworth, at the heart of the UK's manufacturing region. The company specialises in the manufacture of gears and splines, supplying both the motorsport and aerospace sectors. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to increase their workforce.

The Role

Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Skilled Cylindrical Grinder will set up, adjust, and operate cylindrical grinding machinery to grind gears and gear shafts to extremely tight tolerances and finish requirements, in line with engineering drawings and company quality standards.

The Ideal Candidate

• Minimum of 3 years' trade training or equivalent experience, with 2-4 years' hands-on cylindrical grinding experience
• Experience working to sub 0.005mm tolerances
• Ability to work from detailed engineering drawings, process sheets, tooling instructions, and standard charts
• Experience entering data into an ERP system
• Extensive knowledge of cylindrical grinding processes
• Ability to operate multiple machines, with experience using Jones and Shipman machinery
• Confident calculating dimensions, rotation speeds, feed rates, and machining times
