Job Description
_ "When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower." _

Do you believe that every child deserves an environment where they can thrive and reach their full potential? If you have a passion and experience supporting children with their behavioural and emotional needs, we would love to hear from you to become a Children's Therapeutic Support Worker.

Nestled in the beautiful Welsh countryside near Welshpool, this specialist residential and educational setting offers a nurturing and child-centered environment for young people aged 11 to 17. The home provides tailored, trauma-informed support to children who have experienced significant Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), including abuse, neglect, and complex trauma. This service is uniquely designed to provide care, education, and therapy all within one integrated site, allowing for a truly holistic approach. Grounded in evidence-based and theoretically informed practices, the aim is to empower every child to grow into confident, capable young adults who can thrive in society.

These early challenges that the children face often result in learned behaviours and emotional difficulties that require the care and guidance of compassionate, resilient, and qualified adults to help shape a brighter and more structured future. Due to experiencing ACEs, these children may struggle with trust, self-esteem, and engagement in education. That's why empathy, patience, and understanding are at the heart of what we do. By seeing the world through their eyes, you'll help build a future filled with optimism, positive expectations, and the belief that good things will happen.

As a Children's Therapeutic Support Worker, you and your team will work alongside a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team, using therapeutic approaches to create a safe, holistic space where every child feels seen, heard, and valued. You will need to be engaging, reflective, and proactive, a person who is genuinely committed to making a difference.
