Are you an experienced and dedicated Residential Childcare professional seeking the next exciting step in your career? We are seeking a Children's Specialist Residential Deputy Manager to join a dedicated team that provides Therapeutic care to children within a safe, friendly, and child-centred environment.

This specialist residential children's home is situated in the lush countryside just outside Worcester. They offer a homely and welcoming environment where children aged 11-17 with a history of ACEs can receive the best possible care and support to grow and thrive. Therapeutic practices, such as PACE and trauma-informed care, are holistically applied, along with the support of a multi-disciplinary team. This ensures that children can build positive relationships with adults and are provided with a structured, stable, and nurturing environment in which to grow and reach their full potential.

As a Children's Specialist Residential Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the home's Registered Manager with admin tasks to maintain a structured, safe, and supportive environment. With a focus on providing therapeutic, child-centered care, you will work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure positive outcomes are met and that the children's social, emotional, physical, and educational needs are supported. You will also be a leading role model to your staff on shift, providing them with the support they require to achieve excellent working practices.

Prior experience in a Senior or Leadership role is essential, as comprehensive record-keeping, the confidence to lead a shift, and thorough knowledge of Ofsted requirements are needed.

Salary: £38,000 - £40,000, including sleep-ins

Rota: 2 on 4 off (Including 7 - 8 sleep-ins per month)

Role of a Children's Specialist Residential Deputy Manager

Be able to engage with the children in a Therapeutic, Holistic, child-centered manner
Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home
Support during Reg 44 and Ofsted home inspections
Lead shifts, delegate tasks, and manage staff rotas
Oversight of key worker sessions, risk assessments, care plans, reviews etc
Support staff supervision and ad hoc training opportunities
Act as a positive and influential role model, setting an example to both the children and your team of staff
Maintain a structured, home-like environment showing consistency and compassion
Liaise with family, teachers, social workers, psychologists, and other professionals
Maintain a positive can-do attitude, showing positivity and enthusiasm
Encourage the children to develop their life skills
Support the children with their social, emotional, and behavioural needs
Mentor and educate the children
Support and encourage day-to-day activities and hobbies with the children, promoting the development of life skills and independence.
Manage behaviours that may challenge, and understand the reasons for them
Maintain well-written and comprehensive record-keeping at all times
Maintain safeguarding policies at all times
Create and maintain a therapeutic, safe, and healthy environment for the children.
Assist with budgeting

Requirements of a Children's Specialist Residential Deputy Manager

Must have a genuine passion for making a positive difference in children's lives
Must have a valid UK Manual Drivers' License
Must hold a Level 3 or 4 qualification in Residential Childcare
Must have at least 2 years of experience working within an Ofsted-regulated residential children's home
A Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management is preferred but not essential
Be able to work a 2 on 4 off shift pattern, including 7 - 8 sleep-ins per month
