Job Description

Case Administrator
Location: Chorley (Onsite)

If you're an organised, people-focused administrator who thrives on accurate processes and clear communication, this could be the role where your skills truly make a difference. Our Client is hiring for a reputed client within the Probation Office in Chorley-supporting people on probation and victims through efficient, well-managed case administration.

What you'll be doing:
  • Set up and maintain accurate people on probation and victim information on approved databases
  • Support the administration of referrals and coordination between offender management, victims, interventions, service providers and external agencies to help improve outcomes and reduce re-offending
  • Prepare, maintain and collate case records, files and management information to required standards and within timescales
  • Receive and distribute communications appropriately (telephone, paper, and email)
  • Provide cover for reception and telephone enquiry support
  • Act as a single point of contact within the unit for specialist area work, as required
  • Deal fairly and effectively with a range of people on probation, including those who may be in crisis, distressed, or display inappropriate/aggressive behaviour-seeking appropriate support when needed
  • Make practical arrangements to help deliver the Sentence Plan (e.g., appointments and directions)
  • Carry out enforcement administration as required
  • Issue petty cash/vouchers/warrants for travel costs when needed and keep suitable records in line with local procedures
  • Organise the availability of equipment, materials and facilities for case-related activities; report faults and arrange replacements/repairs as agreed
  • Support meetings as required (agenda, notes/minutes and action points)
  • Ensure work is carried out in line with Health and Safety policies, including required equipment testing
  • Provide cover within the unit and support other units within the LDU and Division as appropriate
  • Carry out safeguarding children duties in line with statutory responsibilities and agency policies
  • Reinforce pro-social behaviour and challenge anti-social behaviour and attitudes, consistently and appropriately
What you'll bring:
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), with the confidence to speak with a wide range of individuals
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and manage tasks with accuracy and pace
  • Confidence using databases, along with good keyboard and IT skills
  • Solid MS Office Word skills, plus basic Excel capability
  • Basic numeric skills
  • A commitment to equality and inclusion, and an understanding of how it connects to the work you do
  • The ability to fulfil spoken aspects of the role confidently through the medium of English
Additional information:
  • Full-time, fully office based: Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm (37 hours per week)
  • Pay rate: £12.71
  • Level of clearance required: HMPPS vetting (subject to security and identity checks prior to starting)
  • Onsite Parking

The assignment runs until 18/04/27 with the possibility of extending
