Job Description
Biomedical Science Laboratory Technician

Position: Part time (27.75 hours per week, 0.75 FTE) laboratory technician supporting the Faculty of Health, Science and Engineering while undertaking a part time PhD (0.25 FTE).

Salary: £26,707 to £28,031 per annum (£20,030 to £21,023 per annum pro rata). Bursary: £3,125 per annum for the duration of the PhD plus fees waiver.

Responsibilities

Maintain laboratory facilities and equipment, demonstrate equipment usage to staff and students, and carry out duties across the Biomedical Science degree programmes. Support other faculty staff and work in multiple laboratories.

Qualifications

• Holds a BSc or equivalent in Biomedical Science or a related Biological Science.
• Demonstrated knowledge of biomedical laboratory equipment, including cell culture.
• Experience working in a laboratory or academic environment, with background in exercise, environmental, human physiology, or life sciences.
• High organisational and communication skills.
