Job Description
Youth Development Officer (North East Wales)

Closing date: Friday 14 November 2025 Salary: £25,000 - £29,000 Contract type: Fixed term / Working hours: Full time Location: Hybrid Apply here

We are seeking a Youth Development Officer to lead on the provision of educational programmes and nature-based activities with young people in NE Wales. This fixed-term position (two years) aims to kick-start our work with 11-24 year olds in the region; delivering activities which foster greater nature-connectedness and equip them with skills and knowledge to pursue careers in the green sector.

We have brought together two distinct, but complementary, grant funding streams to create this unique and exciting opportunity within our Youth & Communities Team.

You will have a background in youth education and facilitation, either within the private, public or charitable sector. You will have a flexible and adaptable approach that's rooted in comprehensive experience of risk management and health and safety in the outdoors. We would expect an understanding of safeguarding practices and that you are comfortable to independently lead activities with groups of young people. You will be a great communicator, with a personable style who can work with many different people across the wonderful variety of geography, business development, and activities of North Wales Wildlife Trust.

You enjoy working dynamically and problem solving. This is a new role which will evolve following your appointment so you should be excited by the flexibility and opportunities to take an innovative approach.

We value passion, respect, trust, integrity, pragmatic activism and strength in diversity. Whilst we are passionate in promoting our aims, we are not judgemental and are inclusive. We particularly encourage applications from people who are underrepresented within our sector, including people from minority backgrounds and people with disabilities. We are committed to creating a movement that recognises and truly values individual differences and identities. We take our Safeguarding responsibilities extremely seriously.
