Are you a warm, dedicated year 2 teacher looking for a full time role next term? A welcoming and friendly primary school in Kidderminster is seeking an experienced year 2 teacher to cover a maternity leave starting in May. This is a full time teaching role working with a lovely Year 2 class, within a school known for its supportive leadership team and positive staff culture.
This opportunity would suit a confident and nurturing year 2 teacher who can quickly build strong relationships with pupils and staff. The school is looking for a year 2 teacher who is enthusiastic, adaptable, and able to fit seamlessly into their established and welcoming team.
As a year 2 teacher, you will take full class responsibility, delivering engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum and supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally. The school places a strong emphasis on teamwork, wellbeing, and creating a positive learning environment for both pupils and staff.
Responsibilities- Planning and delivering engaging lessons as a year 2 teacher in line with the national curriculum.
- Taking full responsibility for a Year 2 class during the maternity cover.
- Assessing, tracking, and reporting pupil progress.
- Creating a warm, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, and senior leaders.
- Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing and development alongside academic progress.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Previous experience working as a year 2 teacher or within KS1.
- A nurturing, patient, and positive teaching approach.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a close knit team.
- A flexible and professional attitude when covering maternity leave.
- Competitive Salary - £31,785 - £45,240 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year
- Holiday Pay - PAYE candidates accrue 12.07% of their day rate.
