Job Description

Downe House is a leading independent boarding and day school for girls aged 11-18, located in the village of Cold Ash, just outside Newbury in Berkshire. Our aim is to provide pupils with a wealth of academic, pastoral and co curricular opportunities to allow them to grow into confident young women.

We are looking for two new team members to join our friendly and supportive catering team. This is a great opportunity for reliable, hardworking individuals who enjoy a hands on role and take pride in keeping operations running smoothly in a busy environment.

Option 1: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7, usually including 1 day at the weekend.

Term Time only, which is 34 weeks per year.

Salary - £17,567.55 - £18,874.35 per annum

Option 2: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7, usually including 1 day at the weekend.

Full Time.

Salary - £23,068.50 - £24,784.50 per annum

Job purpose and overview

To support the Stores and Delivery Supervisor in the operation of the catering stores and be responsible for receipting all kitchen goods, deliveries, stock control and issues in accordance with operating procedures and the Food Safety Management System.

Specific responsibilities include the collation, preparation, and delivery of catering requisitions to all boarding houses and departments, including liaising with the cookery technician over cookery lesson supplies. There is also a requirement to support the cleaning of some kitchen equipment.
