Workshop Controller

Our client, a well-established franchise-approved car dealership in Cardiff, is seeking a highly skilled Workshop Controller to join their dynamic Service Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Workshop Controller to lead a busy workshop and further their career within a reputable dealership group.

Duties:

• Lead and manage the workshop team of 7 Vehicle Technicians and 2/3 Apprentices to ensure high standards of service
• Plan and allocate work efficiently, maximising productivity and profitability
• Monitor individual and workshop performance to meet key performance indicators
• Foster effective communication between technicians, service reception, and customers regarding vehicle status
• Ensure workshop compliance with health and safety regulations and brand standards
• Identify training and development needs within the team to support ongoing improvement
• Maintain exceptional workshop standards, ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with brand service requirements

Requirements:

• Proven track record of successfully managing a busy automotive workshop for at least three years, ideally within a franchise approved dealership
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
• Results-driven with excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
• IT literate with a good understanding of workshop management systems
• Full UK driving licence with minimal points
• Reside in or within a reasonable commute of Cardiff
