Job Description

Avery Healthcare is looking for a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant at Astbury Manor Care Home in Berkshire. The role involves supporting the Wellbeing Coordinator in offering a wide range of activities that contribute positively to the residents' physical, cognitive and social well being. The position requires a warm, dedicated individual who will help create a stimulating and supportive environment. The shift details are from 10:00 to 17:30 across weekdays and weekends, and the salary is £12.75 per hour.

About the role

As a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant, your focus will be to support the Wellbeing Coordinator in providing a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate the residents' physical, cognitive and social well being. Other responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a safe living and working environment and contributing to the positive and professional image of the home.
  • Reporting any changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing and Activity Coordinator, Home Manager and the care staff.
  • Supporting with ordering and preparing supplies for upcoming activities as directed.
  • Establishing links with the local community (e.g., schools, spiritual groups, museums/libraries) to encourage access to the wider community and promote intergenerational activity.

  • ADBS Disclosure check - the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Submission for Disclosure and Barring Service (previously CRB) as required under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
Qualifications and Person Specification
