Volunteer Driver

We are seeking a Volunteer Driver to support patients to attend the FAB group held at Badsley Moor Lane. This role involves collecting patients from their home address, transporting them to the group, escorting them during the session, and returning them home.
The FAB group is a falls prevention exercise group for older adults who are unable to access mainstream exercise groups due to their mental health. Patients attending the FAB group have a diagnosis of dementia or another mental health condition. This role works alongside the Mental Health Physiotherapy Community Team and offers the opportunity to support the running of the group if desired.
Main duties of the job- Transport patients from their home to the group and return them home.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients.
- Offer reassurance and conversation during the journey.
- Raise any concerns or issues with a supervisor.
- Be punctual and reliable.
- Communicate effectively with a range of people with diverse needs.
- Behave professionally and treat others with dignity and respect at all times and adhere to the Trust's Equality and Diversity Policy.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975; therefore a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service is required to check for any previous criminal convictions.
