Are you looking for a role that contributes to global change? Are you interested in supporting education applications within complex information systems? Do you enjoy working on critical business systems that are continuously improved? Are you eager to develop your career and skills?

The University of Leeds, established in 1904, is among the top 135 universities worldwide, hosting over 39,000 students from 170 countries and more than 9,000 staff of 100 nationalities. We are committed to academic excellence, student education, and impactful research.

As part of our Digital Transformation, we are investing in IT services to enhance learning and research capabilities, fostering global collaboration on pressing issues.

Your role involves supporting existing services and applications, managing incident responses, and delivering sustainable services that facilitate discovery, usability, management, and preservation of Special Collections metadata and digital collections. You will also support the Library's Digital Library repository and assist in integrating and presenting digital resources via the Special Collections website.

You will lead the development of these systems in collaboration with Library and IT colleagues, including designing and implementing new tools or integrating existing tools with emerging technologies to improve resource discovery and operational efficiency.

Utilizing your skills and experience, you will provide high-quality proactive and reactive application support and development. Skills in scripting languages such as PHP are essential, with familiarity in Python or Perl and experience with LAMP stack development being advantageous.

Ideally, you will have knowledge of digital asset management, digital scholarship, and experience with data schemas and IIIF (International Image Interoperability Framework).

Your work will involve creating and maintaining user documentation aligned with industry best practices, IT standards, and regulatory requirements in a complex environment.
