Job Description

The Technical Services Director serves as the strategic leader and technical authority for our most valued customer relationships. This role combines deep technical expertise with customer strategy leadership. Responsible for delivering commercial growth, driving safety solutions and compliance excellence across our global Tier 1 and Tier 2 customer portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster a culture in accordance with our values and provide leadership, direction and management of the Consultancy, Safety Advice, Safety and Partnership functions
  • Serve as the primary technical expert and strategic face for Tier 1 and Tier 2 customers. Develop and maintain customer safety plans for Tier 1 and Tier 2 customers.
  • Accountable for delivering commercial growth across Tier 1 and Tier 2 customers.
  • Ensure effective onboarding and implementation of large clients.
  • Deliver high-level technical advisory and consultancy services across the entire customer base to improve client safety.
  • Support the product team with ideation and subject matter expertise.
  • Maintain and update safety account plans and customer account plans.
  • Identify and manage strategic partnerships to support the company's direction.
  • Drive industry networking and thought leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with UKAS requirements and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure safety account plans and customer account plans are in place and up to date.
  • Map out partnership opportunities for the next 3, 6, and 12 months.
  • Maximize revenue opportunities for safety services with customers.
  • Delivery of partnership strategy.
  • Ensure effective quality standards and procedures across all functions.
  • Support professional and personal development internally and externally.
  • Contribute to the graduate program and make the organization an employer of choice for environmental health professionals.
  • Identifying and effectively utilizing strategic partnerships.
  • Supporting the strategic direction and ensuring alignment with global strategy.
  • Networking and building relationships with customers and prospects to shape their safety strategy.
  • Align with the global strategy and risk-proof initiatives.
  • Grow the brand of safety trade and risk-proof as part of governance controls.
  • Maintain professionalism and be known as the consultancy of choice.
  • Internal: Product team, service delivery team, account management team, marketing.
  • External: National and local regulators, certification bodies, potential partners, and clients.
  • Product development, marketing, service delivery, and account management.
  • Regular updates on customer engagement, revenue growth, and partnership strategy.
  • Professional Development: Support the development of graduates and ensure the organization is an employer of choice.
Requirements
  • Excellent understanding of the food services, food retail and food manufacturing industries
  • Environmental Health degree
  • Ability to prioritise, strong organisational skills, strong coaching skills, strong oral communication skills, strong negotiating skills, superb with deadlines, decisive, advanced problem-solving capabilities, professional, thorough, detail-oriented, ability to process the big-picture items;
  • 10+ years of experience working in upper management and managing teams;
  • Analytic and problem-solving skills, which require a practical numbers-oriented mind;
  • Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset;
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills;
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
