A thriving four-form entry primary school in Hounslow is seeking an experienced and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join their team from 1st September. This is a full-time, term-time role, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm. The school has a high number of pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful candidate will support children across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, both in 1:1 and small group settings, and within the mainstream classroom. Pupils have a range of individual needs-some are less verbal, and others may present with challenging behaviours. The school provides a strong framework of support with a large team of experienced SEN TAs already in place, creating a well-structured, collaborative working environment. Key Responsibilities: Deliver 1:1 and small group support to pupils with ASD and other additional needs Assist teachers in delivering inclusive and engaging lessons Build positive relationships with pupils, encouraging communication, focus, and emotional regulation Adapt support strategies to match the specific needs of different children Work flexibly across KS1 and KS2 depending on pupil and classroom needs Key Requirements: Experience working with SEN pupils in a primary school, particularly those with ASD and challenging behaviours Confidence in supporting both low-level and high-needs pupils Ability to work effectively within a large, supportive SEN team A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service Strong interpersonal skills, resilience, and a proactive, caring approach This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a highly inclusive school environment, where your skills and rapport with pupils will be recognised and thoughtfully deployed.
