Subspeciality Fellow in Gynaecological Oncology

Responsibilities

• Work closely with our three Gynaecological Oncologists and two Clinical Nurse Specialists
• Develop into a confident and experienced Gynae/Oncologist within 2-3 years of training
• Provide a robust surgical service for women with advanced ovarian cancer, performing radical surgery with minimal morbidity
• Run a minimally invasive surgical service using laparoscopy and robotics for the treatment of endometrial cancer
• Participate in the department's colposcopy service and achieve BSCCP Colposcopy Accreditation
• Actively involve in the Gynaecological MDT, clinics and audit programmes
• Contribute to research, with a target of two peer reviewed publications by the end of the training programme
• Engage in all areas of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, including a 1st on call covering obstetrics and gynaecology at a reduced rate of 50%
• Complete all necessary curriculum modules related to this role, either onsite or through approved methods

Person Specification Qualifications

• Registered with GMC with a licence to practice
• Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (or equivalent)
• Distinctions, prizes, awards, scholarships, other degrees
• BSCCP accreditation
• ATSM in oncology

Training

• ST5 or above

Experience

• Broad based competence of Gynaecology and Obstetrics
• Competent at managing second on call on Labour Ward
• Personal log book demonstrating surgical experience and outcome data
• Evidence of participation in clinical management activities
