To further develop and grow this ambition we are looking for a Specialist Seed Technology OTEC.

YOUR JOB:

As a Specialist you lead and support the execution of research and development activities in seed technology, with a focus on enhancing seed quality, performance, and innovation. This role contributes scientifically and technically to the development of competitive, high-performing seed products by applying expertise in seed physiology, processing, treatment, and storage. The specialist collaborates cross-functionally to ensure that seed technology solutions align with product development goals and market needs.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will strengthen the capabilities/resources in the seed physiology team by focusing on the following tasks:

• Conducting research and development to create new seed technologies
• Providing technical support and advice to the operational team for the use of the different seed technologies when needed
• Hands on experimentation to develop new protocols for seed enhancement and seed quality testing
• Collaborating with scientists to explore innovative ways to improve seed quality
• Documenting and reporting on research findings and different trial results
• Managing stakeholders in different projects and activities
• Keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in seed technology and agricultural science

Your Team

In this position you do not have direct or indirect reports. You will be reporting to the Head of Seed physiology.

WORK EXPERIENCE

• BSc or MSc in chemistry, plant science, seed physiology
• Experience with seed enhancement technology is a plus
• Ability to manage research from ideation to implementation
• Project management skills and experience
• Good knowledge of statistics and trial set-up and execution
• Communication skills, team player
• Energy, enthusiasm and a pro-active approach to problem solving
• Process oriented and pragmatic
• Flexible team player
• Excellent communication, reporting and interpersonal skills
