Job Description

Hours: Full-Time

Pay: Up to £34,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef to plan and deliver balanced menus that are offer interest, quality and consistency.
  • Produce food that is of a consistently high standard.
  • Supervise the work of the other chefs and kitchen porters.
  • Manage the kitchen staff rotas and shifts/hours.
  • Identify and elevate any current or potential staffing/employment issues as soon as possible.
  • Carry out all required checks and controls eg: temperature checks, food storage and stock rotation, stock control, cleaning.
  • Store food and cleaning materials correctly.
  • Help, support and motivate team members wherever necessary and possible.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience at Sous Chef level in a busy kitchen.
  • Exceptionally high standards and can lead and inspire their team by example.
  • Experience of liaising with suppliers, stock take and ordering, budget and rota/shift management, complaint handling and problem solving to drive the business forward.
  • Strong organisational and administrative kitchen management skills.
  • Good people management and communication skills.
  • Must have a valid Right To Work in the UK.
