Job Description
Hours: Full-Time
Pay: Up to £34,000.00 per year
Responsibilities- Assist the Head Chef to plan and deliver balanced menus that are offer interest, quality and consistency.
- Produce food that is of a consistently high standard.
- Supervise the work of the other chefs and kitchen porters.
- Manage the kitchen staff rotas and shifts/hours.
- Identify and elevate any current or potential staffing/employment issues as soon as possible.
- Carry out all required checks and controls eg: temperature checks, food storage and stock rotation, stock control, cleaning.
- Store food and cleaning materials correctly.
- Help, support and motivate team members wherever necessary and possible.
- Proven experience at Sous Chef level in a busy kitchen.
- Exceptionally high standards and can lead and inspire their team by example.
- Experience of liaising with suppliers, stock take and ordering, budget and rota/shift management, complaint handling and problem solving to drive the business forward.
- Strong organisational and administrative kitchen management skills.
- Good people management and communication skills.
- Must have a valid Right To Work in the UK.
