What you will do:
  • Lead and manage a Children in Care social work team, ensuring effective delivery of statutory duties and aligning with legislative requirements.
  • Oversee case allocation, manage workloads, and ensure quality assurance of care planning, with a focus on outcome-driven strategies for all children.
  • Provide regular reflective supervision, performance management, and development opportunities to social workers and support staff to facilitate professional growth.
  • Ensure timely permanency planning, including fostering, adoption, special guardianship, and transitions to independence, maintaining a strong focus on the child's best interests.
  • Monitor compliance with statutory requirements, including looked-after reviews, pathway plans, and safeguarding procedures, to ensure exceptional care and protection for every child.
Person Specification: Qualifications:
  • Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent)
  • Evidence of continued professional development
Registration & Compliance:
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Sound knowledge of Children Act 1989/2004, Care Planning Regulations, and statutory guidance such as Working Together to Safeguard Children
