About the Role:

As an SLD Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping personalised learning journeys that are engaging, accessible, and tailored to each pupil's unique needs. You will deliver creative, multi-sensory lessons that promote communication, life skills, and emotional development, while ensuring every student feels supported and included.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to provide a holistic approach to education. This role requires patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting learners with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and evaluate highly personalised and differentiated learning programmes

Use a range of teaching strategies, including sensory and communication-based approaches (e.g. PECS, Makaton, AAC where appropriate)

Monitor, assess, and record student progress in line with EHCP outcomes

Create a structured, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that supports learning and wellbeing

Work closely with support staff, therapists, and parents/carers to ensure consistent and effective support

Support the development of students' independence, social skills, and emotional regulation

Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews, reports, and meetings

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential

Proven experience working with students with SLD and/or complex needs

Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive practice

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to teaching

Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Based in Feltham or within a commutable distance
