SLD Teacher - Feltham (September 2026)Are you an experienced and compassionate SLD Teacher ready to take the next step in your career? You will be working with pupils who have Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), many of whom may also have additional needs such as autism, sensory impairments, or complex medical conditions. The school is committed to providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where students can thrive, build independence, and achieve meaningful progress.About the Role:As an SLD Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping personalised learning journeys that are engaging, accessible, and tailored to each pupil's unique needs. You will deliver creative, multi-sensory lessons that promote communication, life skills, and emotional development, while ensuring every student feels supported and included.You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to provide a holistic approach to education. This role requires patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting learners with complex needs.Key Responsibilities:Plan, deliver, and evaluate highly personalised and differentiated learning programmes Use a range of teaching strategies, including sensory and communication-based approaches (e.g. PECS, Makaton, AAC where appropriate) Monitor, assess, and record student progress in line with EHCP outcomes Create a structured, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that supports learning and wellbeing Work closely with support staff, therapists, and parents/carers to ensure consistent and effective support Support the development of students' independence, social skills, and emotional regulation Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews, reports, and meetings Requirements:Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential Proven experience working with students with SLD and/or complex needs Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive practice Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to teaching Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team Based in Feltham or within a commutable distance What We Offer:Competitive salary dependent on experience and qualifications A welcoming, supportive, and collaborative school community Opportunities for ongoing professional development and specialist training Access to experienced staff, therapists, and leadership support
