We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our team on a flagship £70 million new build Department for Education (DfE) school project. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering a high-quality, state-of-the-art educational facility for a major blue chip Principal Contractor.
The RoleAs Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
You will work closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and stakeholders to drive progress and maintain excellence throughout the build.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all on-site construction activities from groundworks through to completion
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel
- Ensure strict adherence to health & safety regulations and company policies
- Monitor programme timelines and proactively address delays or risks
- Maintain quality control procedures in line with project specifications
- Conduct regular site meetings and provide progress reports
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and local authorities as required
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on large-scale new build projects (£30m+)
- Previous experience delivering education or public sector schemes (DfE experience highly desirable)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of construction processes, H&S, and building regulations
- Ability to manage multiple trades and drive programme delivery
- SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), and First Aid certified
