You will be responsible for the co-ordination and execution of day to day site maintenance to ensure the site remains safe, functional, and compliant with relevant standards. Routine site maintenance is essential for the smooth operation of all equipment and infrastructure and will encompass a range of tasks:
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee, supervise and be responsible for all planned and unplanned maintenance tasks on site for the area of the plant to which you are allocated. This includes mechanical maintenance and general upkeep of the plant including completion of routine clean up and 5S activity to a high standard.
- Co coordinate the work activity of maintenance personnel aligned with or seconded to your area for specific jobs ensuring employees are productive and represent effective use of company resources.
- Ensure company resources and consumables are used sparingly and not wasted. Ensure proper controls are in place, complied with when parts and materials are issued from stores.
- Ensure that maintenance personnel in your team are adequately trained for their job and ensure all personnel under your supervision comply with all defined H&S and Environmental regulations of the Company.
- Ensure all maintenance activity is properly logged and tracked on the Company maintenance system (PEMAC) so that proper and timely information is available for decision making within the business. Retain oversight of staff workload for all areas of responsibility ensuring adequate coverage of critical areas.
- Monitor workmanship of all tasks completed in your area of responsibility is at the best possible standard and call out where this falls below the desired standard either directly to the staff involved or to management.
- Strive to ensure a best in class preventative maintenance programme is implemented in your area of responsibility and that continuous improvement activities are supported and encouraged.
- Sign off and approve the work as necessary to comply with company resource monitoring requirements.
- Identify and highlight poor performance or non compliance with best practice to those under your supervision and to management where necessary.
- Where external contractors are necessary to performance maintenance activity, be responsible for their supervision including allocation of work, tracking on PEMAC, assessment of work quality and completeness and sign off of time and materials resources used on the job. Ensure that contractors complete activities with appropriate level of clean up and proper disposal of waste materials afterwards.
- Participate positively in daily briefings and communicate all items that are important for others in the plant to be aware of to ensure the smooth running of the plant. Ensure management are aware of all critical information related to your area of responsibility.
- Support the roll out and execution of the Mannok Leading Excellence Programme where applicable, achieving and sustaining the highest operational standards across the Maintenance department, through the four core pillars of Lean, Sustainability, Skills & Development and Continuous Improvement.
- Facilitate the development and implementation of new and innovative ways of working, alongside divisional benchmarking, and best practice sharing.
- Foster the development of a Continuous Improvement culture within the Maintenance department, where all employees at all work levels will become involved and engaged in improvement activities as part of the company's Leading Excellence programme.
- Any other duties as agreed as beneficial by management to the business from time to time.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a flexible attitude, have the ability to work on their own initiative achieve targets and prioritise workload. Previous Supervisory experience or management training is essential.
