Sister/Charge Nurse

Join us at the Urgent and Emergency Care Centre, Rotherham Hospital where our core values of being ambitious, caring, and working together guide everything we do. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to lead within our Emergency Department. You'll be pivotal in ensuring excellent patient care, spearheading initiatives, and fostering a collaborative environment.
Main duties of the jobAmbitious - drive high standards of patient care and facilitate innovative practices within the Emergency Department
Caring - provide compassionate leadership and support to nursing staff, ensuring patient-centred care.
Together - collaborate effectively within the multi-disciplinary team, enhancing teamwork and patient management outcomes.
- Act as a role model and mentor to junior nursing staff, supporting their professional development.
- Participate in staff training and development programmes
- Manage staffing resources effectively and support the Band 7 team in operational duties
- Monitor and evaluate patient care standards, implementing improvements where necessary

Person Specification Knowledge- Demonstrates knowledge of policies, practices and procedures e.g. NHS national policies, standards, requirements and directions that relate to patient care
- Within the relevant area
- Recruitment and selection experience
- Current level one NMC registration Registered Nurse
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Mentorship qualification (or willingness to work towards)
- Experience of working in an emergency department environment covering both triage and resuscitation
- Paediatric Life Support
- European Paediatric Advanced Life Support (EPALS) or equivalent
- Advanced Life Support (valid)
- Level 2 Trauma Training (TNCC or equivalent)
