Job Description
Sluggett Limited are looking for HGV Drivers to deliver animal feed around the South West. The candidate must have good attention to detail, previous experience an advantage. Training can be given. This job does entail early starts, late finishes, and an option of overnight work. Overtime paid after 40 hours.
Summary
As an HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, reporting directly to the Transport Manager. This role requires a valid HGV Licence and a strong foundation in commercial driving. Your core skills in driving and delivery will be essential as you navigate various routes, With relevant experience as a delivery driver, you will contribute to our commitment to timely and reliable service, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Operate HGV vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
Transport goods to designated locations, ensuring timely delivery.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation.
Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise.
load securely and ensure proper loading and unloading procedures are followed.
Qualifications
Valid HGV Licence
Proven experience in commercial driving
Strong driving skills with a focus on safety and compliance
Experience as a delivery driver preferable but training can be given.
Ability to navigate routes efficiently and manage time effectively
Excellent communication skills for customer interactions
