Location: Belfast City Centre Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

The Opportunity

We're seeking a Senior VAT Manager to join a leading professional services firm in Belfast. This is a client-facing position offering the chance to work across a wide range of sectors and projects. You'll deliver high-level VAT advice, ensure compliance, and play a vital role in the growth of the VAT function through business development and relationship building.

Key Responsibilities

Provide VAT and indirect tax advice to UK and international clients

Advise charities and not-for-profit organisations on VAT liability, recovery, partial exemption, and related areas

Support clients on property transactions and provide ad hoc advisory services

Carry out VAT Due Diligence assignments for high-value deals

Undertake VAT health checks and compliance reviews

Oversee and review client VAT returns submitted by the business

Communicate key VAT updates internally and externally

Manage client expectations and maintain strong relationships

Actively contribute to business development and team strategy

About You

Strong technical knowledge of UK VAT

Experience gained in practice or a HMRC environment

Proven ability to manage a varied VAT client portfolio across multiple sectors

Confident communicator, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels

Experience in staff supervision or team management
