Senior User Experience Designer

Digital & Technology at UAL is on an exciting journey, transitioning from a 'classic' IT approach to a user-centred product approach to technology. We are investing in our people, and the processes enabled by digital, to evolve and transform the student and staff experience at UAL.

This role will be instrumental in establishing and embedding UX, design, research, and accessibility standards across the team. The role includes leading UX design services, enhancing existing products, coaching other UX designers within the team and potential future line management. This role will also be responsible for developing data-driven processes, ensuring UX effectiveness and alignment with agile methodologies, enabling the team to deliver value swiftly. The role will also be an active member of our design community in Digital and Technology, providing coaching and mentoring support to other members.

In this recruitment round, we are seeking a Senior UX Designer to work within our Digital Services team as we focus on creating and enhancing a seamless and reliable digital experience. You will collaborate closely with the product team through discovery and delivery phases to align all UX and research processes with our agile delivery process and advocate for a culture of continuous improvement.

In this role you will help further shape and implement easy-to-use principles, standards, and methodologies for UX design. Experience

• Demonstrable knowledge, experience, and passion for user-centred design, with expertise in a range of UX tools and techniques.
• Extensive experience applying design thinking and UX methodologies across the full product life cycle.
• Exceptional storytelling, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate research insights, user feedback, and data into actionable design solutions.
• Ability to mentor and coach designers and uphold high-quality design standards within teams.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary agile teams to deliver iterative, user-centered solutions at pace.
• Adept at working in agile product-led environments, shaping products and services through your research and design processes and working closely with Product managers, content and engineers.
