Job Description

Food Type: Modern British seasonal menus and pizzas across 3 kitchens.

Accommodation: Staff accommodation available.

You will work across three kitchens, gaining insights into different culinary styles and learning from our Head Chef. These include:

  1. Living Space: Lakeside eating, meeting, and lounging area.
  2. Rampsbeck Restaurant: Inspired by regional produce, highlighting heritage ingredients with a contemporary twist.
  3. The Glass House: Woodfired pizza by the water's edge.

Our goal is to inspire guests with seasonal menus, local produce, and memorable dining experiences.

As Sous Chef, you will bring creativity, attention to detail, and culinary passion. You will collaborate with the Head Chef to craft menus, oversee operations, and lead the kitchen team, ensuring high-quality dining experiences.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Deputizing for the Head Chef and managing kitchen operations.
  • Conducting and recording staff training.
  • Assisting in organizing and supervising kitchen activities.
  • Providing excellent guest service, handling queries and complaints.
  • Maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and appearance standards.
  • Monitoring and reviewing the work of chefs.
  • Managing kitchen staff and schedules.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal food safety and health regulations.
  • Participating in food preparation and presentation.
  • Maintaining equipment and reporting safety issues.
  • Conducting weekly kitchen audits with the Head Chef and General Manager.

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Passion for food and the industry.
  • Flexible working hours and shifts.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of international cuisines and current trends.
