Location: Brussels (Hybrid)
Contract Duration: 12 months (220 days) - long-term engagement

This is a *Belgium Hybrid* based role with an excellent immediate start within a Global Consulting company working on *supporting large-scale, long-term transformation and application delivery programmes within a complex, highly regulated environment.*
Role Overview
A major Belgian financial services organisation is seeking multiple Senior Scrum Masters/Agile Delivery Leads to support large-scale, long-term transformation and application delivery programmes within a complex, highly regulated environment.
This is a senior, hands-on delivery role for experienced Scrum Masters who go beyond facilitation and actively own delivery outcomes. You will work closely with Product Owners, developers, architects, testers, service managers, and business stakeholders to ensure predictable, high-quality delivery aligned with Agile principles and enterprise governance.
The role requires strong autonomy, delivery ownership, and the ability to operate credibly with both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Delivery & Scrum Mastery

Act as Scrum Master for one or more Agile squads, ensuring the effective application of Scrum and Agile practices

Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives, PI Planning, and Scrum-of-Scrums where applicable

Ensure teams deliver sprint commitments aligned with agreed scope, quality, and timelines

Protect teams from external distractions while maintaining effective stakeholder engagement
Delivery Ownership & Planning

Own and track end-to-end delivery for your squad(s), including sprint planning, dependency management, and delivery milestones

Track and report delivery metrics such as velocity, capacity, predictability, risks, and impediments

Identify delivery risks and issues early, propose mitigation actions, and escalate where necessary

Ensure alignment between delivery plans, technical constraints, and business priorities
Product Owner & Stakeholder Support

Support Product Owners with backlog structuring, refinement, prioritisation, and Definition of Done

Ensure user stories are clear, achievable, and sprint-ready

Provide transparent delivery status and reporting to stakeholders and management

Challenge assumptions constructively and promote realistic commitments
Coaching, Leadership & Continuous Improvement

Act as a servant leader and coach, fostering self-organisation, accountability, and continuous improvement

Promote Agile best practices and contribute to Agile maturity across teams and programmes

Encourage knowledge sharing, collaboration, and a culture of open feedback
-
Mentor less experienced Scrum Masters or team members when required
Mandatory Skills & Experience
Professional Experience
-
Typically 4 to 9+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead, or similar role
-
Proven experience in complex, enterprise-scale environments, preferably regulated
-
Demonstrated delivery ownership beyond ceremony facilitation
Agile & Delivery Expertise
-
Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks and practices (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.)

Experience working with cross-functional teams (development, testing, architecture, operations)
-
Ability to manage dependencies, risks, and delivery constraints
-
Solid understanding of software delivery life cycles and modern engineering practices
Tooling
-
Agile delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, Rally, Azure DevOps, or equivalent
-
Familiarity with delivery metrics, reporting, and planning tools
Soft Skills & Mindset

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Confident in challenging priorities and delivery assumptions constructively

Pragmatic, solution-oriented, and quality-focused

Team-oriented with leadership and coaching capability
Language Requirements

English: mandatory
-
French and/or Dutch: strong advantage
Nice to Have

Experience in financial services or other regulated industries

Exposure to ServiceNow or enterprise ITSM platforms

Experience supporting large-scale transformations, change initiatives, or Target Operating Model (TOM) delivery

Exposure to RPA or automation programmes

Experience operating at programme or ART level
