Role Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience working with children with challenging behaviour and/or additional support needs in a residential setting, professional capacity or local community.
• An SVQ 3 or 4 in social care and working towards or having a HNC in social care or equivalent is essential.
• A valid UK driving licence.
• An understanding of GIRFEC and curriculum for excellence is desirable.
• Experience of working with children and families.
• An understanding of the principles of safeguarding and Child Protection legislation.
• The ability to work in a positive, respectful and empowering way with young people, in order to promote good relationships and encourage achievement while being a positive role model.
• Experience and understanding in dealing with challenging situations.
