Senior Regional Clinical Fellow in Anaesthesia
This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to join the Anaesthetic and intensive care teams based at Leicester Royal Infirmary, Glenfield Hospital and Leicester General Hospital.
Suitable for any grade of doctor who:
- holds full GMC registration and a licence to practice
- is within 2 years of gaining all competencies required for completion of training
- has a certificate of basic training and has achieved at least the primary FRCA or equivalent
- Deliver teaching and educational events across all training levels, from non clinical to national faculty events.
- Support postgraduate educational qualifications and participate in national educational activities.
- Assist departmental audit leads with project completion and conduct audits required for accreditation.
- Attend departmental meetings and events and contribute to ongoing quality improvement.
- Engage in anaesthetic audit and research projects as well as ICU audit and research activities.
- Work within one of the busiest maternity units in the county, contributing to research and innovative care initiatives.
- Develop peri operative care, including pre operative optimisation, CPET testing, morbidity and mortality scoring, high risk clinics and virtual assessments.
The post will be based across the three acute hospitals of the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, which is a leading acute teaching Trust in England.
Person Specification Training & Qualifications- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- Previous employment in an anaesthetic capacity
- FRCA, FCARCSI or FICM (or equivalent)
- Suitable experience for on call anaesthetic work, including intensive care, obstetrics and emergency theatre (supported by employment history, supervisor letter or logbook summary)
- Evidence of teaching at undergraduate level
- Higher qualifications in Medical Education
- Demonstrable skills in clear, fluent and articulate verbal and written presentation
- Self motivated with a strong desire to succeed
