Desktop Engineer - Kiddiminster

Location: Birmingham & surrounding area (Field Based)

Here at Lucid we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Desktop Engineer to join our client, supporting various customer sites in and around the Birmingham area. The role is field-based, providing on-site support across hardware, software, and networking, with a strong focus on Windows 11 migration projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced-level support for Windows desktop operating systems (Windows 10, Windows 11, O365) and associated applications.

• Image, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.

• Support users through migration activities, including profile set-up and troubleshooting post-migration issues.

• Deliver floor-walking support to assist users with faulty profiles, desktop issues, and application queries.

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral issues in a timely manner.

• Provide basic network and server troubleshooting, including configuration of end-user equipment.

• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, Group Policy, and remote support tools.

• Experience with Office 365 deployment and support.

• Previous experience in Windows 11 migration projects (imaging, deployment, and floorwalking).

• Basic knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) and server environments.

• Full UK driving licence (essential for field-based work).
