About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Governance Consultant with a strong understanding of data management principles to support a security-focused project centered on Data Protection and Recovery .

This is a hands-on, strategic consulting role that requires expertise across governance, security, and compliance, alongside strong stakeholder management skills. You'll work closely with executives, directors, engineering teams, and information security functions to deliver solutions that ensure resilience, compliance, and trust in enterprise data.

What You'll Do

• Act as SME on data protection and recovery , leading initiatives in:
  • Data Asset Inventory
  • Data Retention
  • Data Disposal
  • Data Encryption
  • Access Controls
  • Data Recovery
• Design and implement governance operating models, workflows, and policies aligned to business and regulatory needs.
• Engage directly with senior stakeholders across business, engineering, governance, and information security.
• Provide advisory and delivery expertise across data cataloging (Alation preferred) and dashboarding (Power BI).
• Define and enforce governance frameworks supporting compliance, resilience, and long-term data strategy.
• Conduct workshops, training, and enablement sessions to embed governance practices across the organisation.

What You'll Need

• 5+ years in data governance, information security, or data management roles.
• Proven expertise in data protection practices (retention, disposal, encryption, recovery, access control).
• Strong understanding of governance principles and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, data protection standards).
• Experience with data cataloging (ideally Alation) and BI tools (Power BI).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to engage confidently with executives and technical teams alike.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to bridge business and technical perspectives.
• Hands-on experience with data management platforms or scripting (SQL, Python, APIs) is a plus.
