Senior Compensation Manager
Posted 6 hours 33 minutes ago by Teya
Hello! We're Teya.
Teya is a payment and software service provider, headquartered in London serving small, local businesses across Europe. Founded in 2019, we build easy to use, integrated tools that enable our members to accept payments and boost business performance.
At Teya we believe small, local businesses are the lifeblood of our communities.
We're here because we don't believe there's a level playing field that gives small businesses with a fighting chance against the giants of the high street.
We're here because we see banks and legacy service providers making things harder for them. We don't think the best technology or the best service should be reserved for those with the biggest headquarters.
We're here to fight for a future where small, local businesses can thrive, and to commit the same dedication they offer all of us.
Become a part of our story.
We're looking for exceptional talent to join our mission. We offer a chance to create impact in a high-energy and connected culture, while benefiting from continuous learning opportunities, a supportive community which is proud to serve our mission, and comprehensive benefits.
Your Mission
At Teya, fair and competitive rewards are key to attracting and retaining top talent as we scale. We're looking for a Senior Compensation Manager to both run our core compensation programs and build the frameworks that will set us up for the future.
You'll lead cyclical activities including annual salary review, mid-year salary adjustments, performance linked bonus, and equity administration while also designing our job architecture, levelling methodology, and pay ranges. This is a hands-on but high-impact role as you'll balance operational excellence with strategic design, partnering with leadership, Finance, and the People team to make compensation at Teya accurate, fair, and scalable.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and execution of annual compensation cycles (salary, bonus, and equity) end-to-end, including data preparation, manager tools, communications, and post-cycle reporting.
Own and evolve Teya's job architecture and career levelling framework, ensuring alignment with market practices and maintaining robust pay ranges (experience with WTW methodology is highly advantageous).
Benchmark roles against external market data, establish competitive salary ranges, and partner with Talent Acquisition to shape compelling offers and promotions.
Manage equity administration through Carta, including data integrity, vesting schedules, and reporting for Finance, Legal, and executive stakeholders.
Champion pay transparency and compliance by conducting pay gap analyses, ensuring adherence to regulatory reporting, and embedding equitable practices.
Advise business leaders, Talent Acquisition, and People Partners on compensation strategy, promotion frameworks, and internal mobility decisions.
Upskill People Partners and the wider People team by enabling a strong understanding of compensation philosophy, principles, and governance.
Ensure data accuracy across HRIS and equity platforms, producing actionable insights and dashboards for senior leadership.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying gaps, automating workflows, and refining compensation policies, tools, and communication strategies.
Requirements
Extensive experience in Compensation & Rewards, ideally within high-growth startup or scale-up environments.
Proven expertise in job evaluation, career architecture, and pay framework design, as well as benchmarking, pay band creation, and interpreting market data.
Deep understanding of both cash and equity compensation, with hands-on ownership of end-to-end compensation cycles.
Familiarity with methodologies and frameworks such as WTW highly desirable.
Ability to translate complex compensation principles into clear guidance for leaders, Talent Acquisition, and People Partners.
Analytical mindset with strong data accuracy, reporting, and insights experience.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
The Perks
We trust you, so we offer flexible working hours, as long it suits both you and your team
Physical and mental health support through our partnership with Wellhub giving free access to over 1,500 gyms in the UK, 1-1 therapy, meditation sessions, digital fitness and nutrition apps

Teya is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or background can thrive and do their best work. We believe that a diverse team leads to better ideas, stronger outcomes, and a more supportive workplace for all.
