SEND Tutor Pay: £25.00-£30.00 per hour

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and patient SEND Tutor to work with a secondary-aged learner on a part time basis. The role involves delivering personalised tuition in a supportive, low pressure environment, tailored to the learner's individual needs and abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver 4.5 hours of tuition across Monday and Tuesday
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons appropriate to a secondary curriculum
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet SEND needs
• Build a positive, trusting relationship with the learner
• Support academic progress, confidence, and engagement with learning
• Monitor progress and adjust sessions as needed
• Communicate effectively with parents/carers and relevant professionals where appropriate

Essential Requirements

• Experience working with secondary-aged learners
• Experience supporting students with SEND
• Ability to deliver 1:1 tuition
• Calm, flexible, and empathetic teaching approach
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills

Desirable

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching/tutoring qualification
• Experience working with learners who are out of school / EOTAS
• Familiarity with EHCPs or personalised learning plans
