Job Description
SEND Teaching Assistant Hounslow September Start

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hounslow is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This full time, long term position runs until July 2027 and would suit a Psychology graduate or someone with a related academic background who is looking to gain practical experience supporting children with additional needs in a school setting.

Pay: £450-£530 per week (including holiday pay).

The school has a well established SEND department with clear routines, strong pastoral support, and a calm learning environment. Staff work closely together to support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and communication needs. The school places a strong focus on helping pupils build confidence, develop independence, and make steady progress both academically and socially.

The Role of a SEND Teaching Assistant
  • Supporting pupils with SEND in class on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assisting the class teacher with adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Delivering targeted intervention sessions focused on communication, literacy, and emotional regulation
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils engage with learning
  • Building supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
