The Role

You will work as part of a SEND support team, providing in class and out of class support to students with identified SEND needs. This includes 1:1 support and small group interventions, and contributing to a positive, structured learning environment. You will play a key role in helping pupils engage with learning, regulate behaviour, and make meaningful progress.

  • Support students with SEND in lessons and during structured interventions
  • Deliver targeted small group support programmes
  • Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum effectively
  • Support behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
  • Promote a calm, purposeful learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff and pastoral teams
  • Monitor and support pupil progress and engagement
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND
  • Ability to support learning and behaviour effectively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Calm, consistent and reliable approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare
  • Experience delivering small group interventions
  • Experience supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Experience working in a secondary school setting
  • Understanding of a range of SEND profiles
The Setting

This is a well established secondary school with strong academic outcomes and a clear commitment to developing the whole child, not just exam results. Staff are expected to build positive relationships with pupils and support learning both inside and outside the classroom.

The school values commitment, professionalism, and staff who consistently go the extra mile for young people.
