Are you a graduate keen to support a young person with ADHD and gain hands-on school experience?
SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant
September 2025 - July 2026
£81-£102 per day
Location: Walsall
1:1 support and guidance to a student with ADHD
The Role
As an SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant, you'll be supporting a student with ADHD on a 1:1 basis, helping them focus in lessons, manage transitions, and stay positively engaged throughout the school day. You'll adapt resources, implement behaviour strategies, and provide structure and consistency in line with the SENCO's plan. Your support will help reduce classroom anxiety and promote academic progress.
The Candidate
You're a graduate with a calm, focused approach and a genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs. You're ideally considering a future in education, therapy, or mental health. Resilience, empathy, and the ability to stay patient and proactive in a fast-paced environment are essential. Any experience with ADHD, whether in school, youth work or personal settings, is a big plus.
The School
This Walsall secondary school has a strong inclusion ethos and a supportive SEN department. Staff work collaboratively, and graduates receive mentoring throughout the year. The school values the impact of dedicated 1:1 support and provides training to help you develop in the role.
