Self Employed FTTH Engineer

We are lookingforSelf Employed FTTH (Fibre to the Home) Engineers to work on theOpenreach network with both residential and business customers, handling thefull installation and maintenance of telecom services. You'll work across FullFibre, Copper, and HFC networks, delivering end-to-end solutions.
About you
- Qualifications: NRSWASLG and PIA Accreditation are essential. You must have experience withboth overhead and underground PIA networks. Additional accreditations suchas A001, S8, SA051C, SA002, SA007, S7, N022, SA020, N037, and K008 arehighly desirable.
- TechnicalSkills: Strong practical knowledge of telecom networks, proficiencywith power tools (e.g., drills, Stihl saws, compressors), and basic ITskills for using mobile job management apps.
- Communication& Customer Care: Excellentcommunication skills and a professional approach when dealing withcustomers, the public, and stakeholders.
What's involved
- NetworkBuild-outs : Install new telecom servicesby running overhead lines on utility poles, subducting protective ductsunderground, and using compressed air to "blow" new fibre optic lines throughthem-all involving hands on, physical work.
- Customerinstallations : Visit our customers' homes orbusinesses to set up internal cabling and make sure their new services areworking perfectly.
- NetworkMaintenance: Work with live networkinfrastructure-cabinets, ducts, and poles-clearing minor blockages andcompleting minor network extensions as needed.
- Quality& Safety: Follow strict safetyprocedures, and ensure all equipment is safe to use. You'll also help restoresites, leaving every location clean and safe for our customers.
- Reporting& Admin: Use our systems to record your work and keep information up to date in a timelymanner.
Payments under CIS:
Tax will be deducted from your pay before you receive it, and the contractorwill pay this directly to HMRC on your behalf.
