Scientific Lab Workflow Process Manager

Our client, a key player in the pharmaceutical industry, is looking for a Laboratory Process Manager to lead the optimization of scientific workflows and lab operations, serving as bridge between Scientific teams and Operational Excellence, ensuring that biosample and biomarker processes are streamlined, cost-effective, and scientifically robust.

Responsibilities:

• Workflow Optimization: Analyze and improve lab processes, including biosample handling, biomarker analysis, and bioanalytics workflows. Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions using advanced analytics and process engineering
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with scientists and lab technicians to elicit detailed workflow requirements. Understand what scientists do and translate their needs into operational improvements
• Project Management: Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance lab efficiency, reduce costs, and accelerate timelines-especially in clinical trials, which currently run longer than industry benchmarks
• Scientific Understanding: Deeply understand biomarker studies, biosample logistics, and bioanalytical techniques. Ensure scientific integrity while optimizing operational processes
• Technical Oversight: Apply technical process know-how to lab instrumentation, sample logistics, and data integration platforms. Support workshops and process reviews, including external collaborations (eg, IQVIA central lab in Scotland)
• Documentation & SOPs: Maintain and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, and workflow documentation

Requirements:

• 10 years of laboratory experience, ideally in biomarker or bioanalytical settings
• Strong background in scientific workflows, biosample logistics, clinical trial operations, and strong understanding of scientific workflows
• Proven experience managing complex projects and lead cross-functional teams, specially in Oncology
• Experience with advanced analytics, lab automation, and digital tools
• Excellent communication skills in English; ability to translate scientific needs into operational solutions
