School Business Manager - £42,640 - £52,000 per annum

Lead the strategic planning and operational management of the school's business function

The Role

Lead the school's business function, taking responsibility for strategic planning, financial management, operations, administration, compliance, and resource planning. You will work closely with the Headteacher and senior leaders to ensure that the school's systems, staffing, premises, and business processes support high quality education and long term success.

The Candidate

You are a skilled operational leader with strong financial awareness and the ability to think strategically. You communicate clearly, manage people well, and know how to build efficient systems that support the wider priorities of the school. You are comfortable balancing detail with big picture planning and can lead with confidence across multiple business areas.

Requirements

• Business Leadership - Proven experience leading finance, operations, administration, or business functions within a school or similar setting.
• Strategic Planning - Ability to lead long term planning, manage change, and align business functions with whole school priorities.
• Communication - Clear and confident verbal and written communication with staff, governors, external partners, and wider stakeholders.
• Enhanced DBS - Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
• Operational Management - Strong experience across areas such as budget management, compliance, HR, premises, procurement, or support services.
