Job Description

Are you ready to speak up for students at Cardiff University?

Nominations are currently open for the annual SU Leadership Elections. Each year, Cardiff Students' Union elects the team of students who lead the Students' Union and represent their fellow students at Cardiff University.

PLEASE NOTE: Sabbatical Officers are elected positions, not roles filled through a standard job interview process. To become a Sabbatical Officer, you must stand as a candidate in the SU Leadership Elections, campaign to promote your ideas and priorities, and secure votes from the student body. This involves submitting a nomination, engaging with students during the elections period, and taking part in campaigning activities. Successful candidates take up the role because students have chosen them to represent their interests for the year.

The role is fast paced, varied, and collaborative. You'll work with fellow officers, university staff, and students to understand and improve the academic and wider experience of all students. A typical week may include attending university meetings, speaking to students, writing reports or statements, and planning campaigns.

Running for a Sabbatical Officer role is a great opportunity to gain valuable career development while influencing change at Cardiff University.

What's in it for you?

  • Paid full time job
  • 12 month contract
  • Tailored training and development
  • Open to international students
  • Become a trustee and director
  • Lead a multi million pound charity
