To complete our Grande Boissière Campus, we are looking for a: University Guidance Counsellor - North America Part-time - 32 Hours Position Overview The University Guidance Counsellor supports students pursuing higher education in North American universities and US style programs. The counsellor provides comprehensive university guidance to students in Years 12 and 13, supporting subject selection, competitive applications, and successful transitions to post-secondary education. The role emphasizes individualized guidance, workshops, structured programming, family engagement, and close collaboration with faculty. Responsibilities Provide proactive one-to-one university and career counselling for students in Years 12 and 13, supporting secondary students through subject selection and academic planning aligned with US and Canadian university requirements. Guide students through the university admissions process, deadlines, and transition to university sessions, as well as support Year 12 and 13 students through the full university application process and manage student references to ensure timely completion. Organize and host university visits and maintain the university visits calendar, coordinating with counsellors, faculty, and academic leadership to support student and academic alignment. Maintain communication with families throughout the admissions process. Stay updated on US and Canadian admissions practices, particularly as they apply to universities in North America through professional development conferences, university visits, and training sessions on admissions requirements and best practices with the counselling team. Requirements Experience in US and/or Canadian university counselling in an educational context. Familiarity with Common App, institutional portals, and holistic admissions processes. Strong written communication skills, particularly for student applications to post-secondary institutions (including gap years, alternative programs, and direct-entry options) would be an asset.
